Once you have things set up, all you will need to do week-after-week, is simply open your live stream encoder, such as OBS, and press start. You do not need to be logged into your Sermon Studio account to go live. The goal is to make this as simple as possible for your media team, especially if they are volunteers.
From your dashboard go into your master live episode and click on the details tab.
Let's start by adding your stream credentials into the live stream encoding software.
Make sure your camera and audio devices are being detected witin your encoder.
From the Dashboard go into your Master Live Episode.
And copy the server URL.
Paste the server URL into the proper location within your encoder.
Go back into the Studio to copy the stream key.
Paste the stream key into the proper location within your encoder.
That's it... Starting the stream will send the broadcast to your sermon.net players and any other destinations (simulcast targets) you have have configured.
There are a couple settings to be mindful of. These settings will apply to most live streaming software or hardware... For your video bit rate we suggest somewhere around 2000 - 3000 Kilobits (which is 2 - 3 Megabits) per second. That being said, what you send us we send out. The "best practice" is to go as low as you can go with these bitrate settings, as long as it still looks and sounds good!
We suggest you set your audio at 128 kbps.
It can take up to 1 minute for the stream to go live within your players, and there will be about 30 seconds of delay between what is happening in front of the camera, and what your online audience is seeing in the player.
